I have been working on my own personal family history for 21 years.

After I started on my journey of finding out more information about my mother's side of the family, it got me interested in learning more about my dad's side of the family. This is where my investigating skills began. My father is from Dutch heritage and so finding out information about his father's side of the family was a treasure hunt, however I did find a way to get the information and have gotten back to the 1500's.

Is it always an easy road of just typing in the person's name and finding the information out on them? Absolutely not. I run into snags and road blocks all the time. The key is to not give up. Since I was 14 I have been looking for information on my great grandfather's parents since they passed away when he was a young boy. It took me 18 years to find out anymore information then what I currently have on them. Once you start on a family line you never truly stop.
